Lily turns 3!!

So this year Lily's birthday snuck up on me. After the hustle and bustle of the holidays it is hard to get back into some kind of a routine, let alone plan a party. So we put together a last minute lunch with some of her friends to celebrate this year. She was so happy to see her friends after a long winter apart! Our house was a little crazy but it was wonderful and Lily really felt special. Here are some snap shots from the day

I can't believe that my little Lily is three already. With the help and encouragment from my friends Lily has really come out of her shell this last year. I remember her birthday last year, how she just watched the other kids play and wouldn't interact with the other kids, even kids she has known her whole life. We were really worried about her social akwardness and wondering if we had sheltered her too much. She isn't out of the woods yet and still at times prefers to be close by my side, but we are working at it and it is wonderful to see her interact with her friends without any couching from Don or me. I feel so blessed that God has called me to be her mother, she is constantly teaching me and molding me. I definately have learned a lot from her and she has brought a whole new depth to my life.
