My girls meet my BFF's at Callie's Wedding

October 5,2012 I got the privilege of watching one of my best friends, Callie, marry her best friend :) I also got to catch up with some of my best friends over the weekend too. God has truly blessed me, while some have one or two best friends over a lifetime, I found Laura, Alyssa and Margie in 6th grade (1996) and freshman year of high school (1999) I found Callie and Amy. These girls have been a constant in my life and I love them like sisters. No matter how much time we spend apart, we always pick up right where we left off. Unfortunately life has taken us miles apart and we are spread over Iowa, Wisconsin, Washington and Georgia!

This weekend was especially fun because our little group has been adding babies and it was fun to get to see all the little ones. It melted my heart that my usually shy Lily ran right up to Laura and sat on her lap and was 100% at ease with her. Penny had fun playing with Roman (Alyssa's little man). While my kiddos were occupied I got to have some snuggles with baby Kenley (Laura's little girl).

Aunt Laura teaching Lily how to use an iphone. She is sorely disappointed with my phone now that she has seen how fun a smart phone can be :)

Later on Amy and Jeff came for the reception. My girls have not really met them, they have seen many pictures from my trip to see them in Georgia this past May. They knew them by name and took no time at all to warm up to them. Lily and Penny were both singing and dancing for Jeff. It makes me so happy to see my girls with people that I love so much!

I had to drag the girls off the dance floor at the end of the night

Unfortunately Margie couldn't make it to the wedding, but I did get to meet up with her the next day. Marge and her daughters (Zara and Charlotte) met up with me and my girls at the apple orchard. Unfortunately it was kind of cold and dreary out, but we did get to pick out a pumpkin and some apples to take home. I wish we would have had more time together, but I am thankful for what I got. I have really been missing my friends this year and it was so refreshing to get to see them all in one fun weekend!

My first baseball game!

Our neighbors Derek and Kathy have long been telling me how much I was missing out on having not been or even seen a baseball game before, so we saved up stamps through the summer to get free tickets from our local gas station.

Oct 2 2012, Don and I along with our neighbors Derek and Kathy headed out to a Brewers game. It was a beautiful fall day and we didn't run into much traffic on the way down to Milwaukee. We decided to have supper at Friday's and eat out on the deck. There are signs all over the deck "Watch your head" and "Watch for flying balls" because the deck is open to the baseball field and we were there during practice. There were a few close calls, while others were hopping up to catch balls when one would sail our way, I ducked and covered my head. It would be just my luck to get a concussion before the game even started! The food was absolutely delicious!
Warm Pretzel bread served with beer and bacon cheese sauce! I took a picture because I want to remember it forever :)

Our original seat were at the very top in the corner of the stadium and we couldn't see ANYTHING! We couldn't even see the jumbo screen! So we were sneaky and moved to much better seats. We were able to see everything and I was actually able to follow the game pretty well. We even got the see a GRAND SLAM!! Now that was exciting, bases loaded with 2 outs and he cracked it out. they even set off fireworks inside of the stadium.

We participated in some polka dancing and "jump around" we also got to see the Sausages race, none of us picked the winning wiener though.

We had a great time! It had been a long time since Don and I got out of the house together without the kids. We will definately be heading out to the ball game next year! I still don't know if I could watch a game on TV and stay awake, it was so fun to be in the stadium. So glad God blessed us with neighbors that are also friends.

Miss Penny meets the baby

Oct 16, 2012 I had a regular check up scheduled with my OB Dr Effie Siomos. Since Don has not gotten to go to any appointments this time around, I wanted him to be there. Lily was at preschool so we brought Penny along.

After all the routine checks the Dr had me up on the table to check the baby's heartbeat with the doppler. At 10weeks 3days, they could not find the Heartbeat, so they did an ultrasound to show me the heartbeat and give me peace of mind. This day I was 14wks 4days and I was fully expecting for Penny to get to hear the baby's heart. After 10mins the Dr still couldn't find it. She went to get the portable ultrasound machine... I lay on the table panicing (to myself of course). I was afraid that something had happened to our baby and I was now going to have to try to explain that to Penny.

Thankfully the Dr came through the door then and hooked up her machine. Penny kept saying "What's that mommy?" she was very concerned for what the Dr was doing to me when she put the wand on my tummy... And then there it was. As Don, Pen, and Dr watched the perfect little profile of our baby, I watched the wonder on my little girl's face. Penny's mouth dropped open and then her eyes got huge "Mama!! That's a baby!! That's the baby in your tummy! I see it!" Oh yes the preggo hormones kicked in and I teared up watching her. The baby looked great and was waving and kicking and rolling on the screen. He/She put on quite a show for us all. I was so glad that Penny and Don got to be at this appointment with me!
